Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 June 2026
Last updated: June 2026. Please read these terms carefully. They are written in plain English and are not legal advice.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Subvention at subvention.co.uk. By creating an account, running a search, or buying a paid access pass, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Subvention is a grant-discovery service operated in the United Kingdom. We are currently running as a sole trader. The legal operator and business correspondence address will be confirmed before paid checkout is enabled. Company number: not applicable unless incorporated. Not VAT registered unless confirmed. You can reach us at hello@subvention.co.uk.
2. What the service does
Subvention helps you find and organise UK and European grant funding you may be eligible for. We index publicly-available grant programmes from funders, match them to a profile you provide, and offer tools to save, track, plan and export opportunities. Paid passes unlock additional organisation tools for a fixed period (see section 6).
3. What the service does not do
- We are a search, matching and organisation service — not a funder, grant-maker, agent or broker.
- We do not award grants, decide eligibility, or influence any funder's decision.
- We do not guarantee that funding exists, remains open, that you are eligible, that an application will be accepted, or that you will receive any money.
- We do not provide legal, financial or professional advice.
4. No guarantee of funding
Nothing on Subvention is a promise of funding or of a successful application. Grant decisions rest entirely with the funder. You use the information and tools at your own discretion.
5. Your responsibility to check eligibility, deadlines and details
Grant information can change at any time — deadlines move, programmes close early, eligibility rules change, and funders update their criteria. While we refresh data regularly from primary sources, you are responsible for verifying every detail (eligibility, deadlines, amounts, terms) against the funder's own website before you rely on it or apply. Every grant on Subvention links to its source.
6. Paid access passes and access periods
We sell time-limited, one-off digital access passes (not subscriptions, no auto-renew):
- 30-Day Search Pass — access for 30 days from purchase.
- 90-Day Organisation Sprint — access for 90 days from purchase.
- Advisor Pack — access for 90 days from purchase.
Each pass is a single payment that unlocks the tools listed for that plan for the stated number of days. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Prices are shown on the Pricing page. Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Starting access immediately: If you buy a digital access pass and choose to start using it immediately, you agree that we may begin providing the paid digital service straight away. Once access has started and/or results have been generated, your right to cancel may be limited, except where required by law. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
7. Expiry of access and your saved data
When a pass expires, your account returns to the free plan automatically — there is no further charge and nothing renews. Your saved data is retained: saved grants, saved searches, notes, pipeline stages and exports remain visible in your account. You simply can't add beyond the free limits or use paid tools again until you buy another pass. Free grant search and matching always remain available.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- misrepresent your identity, organisation, or eligibility;
- submit fraudulent or misleading grant applications;
- scrape, copy, republish or resell the grant database or any part of the service;
- use the service to send spam or unsolicited bulk email;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the platform.
9. Account security
You are responsible for keeping your password (or Google sign-in) secure and for activity under your account. One person per account. You must be 18 or over. Tell us promptly at hello@subvention.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.
10. AI-assisted features
Some features use AI to summarise grants, explain matches, and (in the application service) draft text. AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate — always review it before relying on it. We never send anything to a funder on your behalf without your explicit approval.
11. Third-party links and funder websites
Subvention links to funder websites and other third-party sites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, terms or availability. Your dealings with funders are between you and them.
12. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost funding, lost opportunities, missed deadlines, or indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud), and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Suspension or termination for misuse
You may close your account at any time by emailing hello@subvention.co.uk. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or misuses the service. Where we close a paid account for serious misuse, paid access may be forfeited, subject to your statutory rights.
14. Changes to the service and these Terms
We may improve, change or withdraw features over time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be notified by email or on the site, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales. Questions: hello@subvention.co.uk.
